1. Stair carpet was removed and the boards were replaced. The stairs squeaked badly. There was no way to walk quietly up or downstairs. Each board (step) was removed and replaced to eliminate squeak!
2.Carpet was removed from the hallway, Joslyn's room and Master bedroom
3. Jake prepared the outside of the house where the new window was going in for the stucco guy to come and repair.
Those are doors that were standing against the framing to cover the hole.
4. The window was finally put in....the hole is gone!
The inside view of the new window.
5. The window was trimmed out and a window sill was added.
6. New 4-1/4 in. baseboard was added throughout the house (We got it for $0.50 a square foot! Awesome deal!
7. The doors were all replaced and new trim was added to frame them in. I love paneled doors.
8. The kitchen didn't need remodeling thank goodness. It's gorgeous! But, one part of the countertop was coming up so liquid nail was used with this board method to keep it tight for a few days. Hopefully it will stay!
So is it your parents house that you're renovating from? Or are you renting their house while you do these renovations, or am I still off? Just curious, why are you guys moving? Has the market picked up at all since we moved? I can't believe how much work you've put into everything and it's crazy how much of the work Jake is able to do without contracting out.
ReplyDeleteJessica- It is my parents house that is being renovated. We are going to rent it from them because they just moved to Gilbert. This is actually our second move since Novemeber. We moved into a temporary house after ours sold in Nov. The market really hasn't picked up much yet since you left.
